I have been a busy beaver this past week…designing, proofing and tweaking my{ever-expanding} heinie off during every quiet moment I can forage.
Creating Christmas cards for other families.
And I love it!
Snowflakes. Christmas Bulbs. Bright colors. The Eiffel Tower. Gorgeous kids. You know, all the standard Christmas card details.
Oh, well. Except for the Eiffel Tower one. That’s delightfully odd, isn’t it? You see, this sweet family is trekking half-way across the globe (from Texas to Paris) right after Christmas for a year {with hubby’s work}…so it all makes sense. Right? It’s smashing. You should see it! {upper right}
And in the midst of designing my heinie off (don’t you wish it were that easy)…I realized I am a hypocrite of designer proportions.
We do not have a card yet and here’s the kicker…it’s not looking good.
It’s clearly not from a shortage of card options or printing opportunities. It’s simply that…I have no good photos of our whole family. And we can’t find our tripod. And my kid’s noses are pink and snotty…and Bug’s eye is semi-swollen and goopy…and…and. Ugh. I’m just not that good in photoshop that I can fuse all of us together from a smorgasbord of random captured moments {but I’m currently wishing I was}.
So…I’m enjoying everyone else’s. Living vicariously through their gorgeous family photos and cute Christmas cards.
And realizing…I’m totally like the pastry chef who cooks up masterpieces and sells them with a smile, but doesn’t eat sugar.
