Strap on a backpack. Preferably a monkey. Only because it’s fun to say they have a “monkey on their back”. But, maybe you get out more than I do.
Latch the top buckle.
Let him latch the lower one. When you hear a shriek of delight, simply unlatch.
Occasionally you may hear other shrieks. Simply kiss the slightly pinched finger and allow the enjoyment to continue.

Drink a cup of coffee. Freshly brewed. Un-reheated.
Thank God you weren’t too proud to buy the “leash” you swore you’d never strap onto the back of your child.
Listen for shriek of delight. Clap and coo like a mad woman. Unlatch. Step back.
Repeat.
And then repeat.
And again.
