While you may find this hard to believe, what with my mad design skills and all {cough cough}, I occasionally design something for a client that doesn’t inspire shrieks of joy and spontaneous outbursts of the Harlem Shake.
Sometimes they hate it, but graciously say, “I’m…just…not feelin’ it, sorry”.
And then there are those times that I design something that I think they’ll positively LOVE…simply because I positively LOVE it…and when they, well…’don’t feel it’…I turn it into a personal project. Because I don’t want to see it wasted.
This happened two weeks ago when I put together t-shirt proofs for the women’s conference I’m speaking at next week. In San Antonio, Texas. Which, as a side note, I’m DELIRIOUSLY excited about.
In case you’ve ever been curious about what happens to some of the better, unwanted designs I create, take a peek…
I simply ‘manned’ it up a bit, changing the color scheme and personalizing the text, and it went perfectly with the beer brewing kit he’s had his eye on.
And then…it got printed on t-shirts too.
Fancy that.
